In between the huge jobs we’re working on at Moray East and others, the workshop is keeping busy with another of our increasingly popular Acoustic Plant Rooms. This is another one for Aberdeen and is part of the CHP station and district heating system for the Stoneywood Estate.
As with previous models, this one has been designed with personnel access on one side and with large double doors at one end. It will be ventilated and have removable lifting lugs for easy installation. It has been designed to provide a minimum sound power insertion loss of 25dB(A) @ 1m from the plant room.
Where this one is a little different to others is the external cladding. It’s been designed to fit in with the whole colour scheme of the wider development and be finished with a cement fibre-based board cladding. It’s super durable and completes the low profile finish that will blend it seamlessly into its environment.
The flexibility this type of unit offers is immense. It can be configured for a gas-powered boiler array, a CHP or perhaps even heat pumps. Sizes have been fairly standard in the ones we have created so far, as you can see here and here but they can, within reason be created to almost any size as long as it’s transportable.
What’s more, they are also flexible enough to be repurposed in the future too. Even if they have been specified for containing boilers, with little remedial work, they can be tweaked and put to alternative uses. It’s our kind of long term recycling and one of the quiet selling points of our design.
If there’s a need for near silent heat and power where you are, we’re happy to discuss your current and future requirements and design a flexible acoustic plant room solution for you.
